  • Not exactly in the garden but pretty close to it

Whilst working at the castle gardens last Friday, I took a break from digging over the veg patch (about 30m from the high tide line) and whilst contemplating the view and wondering if the Moray Firth Dolphins ever passed by, I saw a pod of 11 - 100m from the shore and in view for ages - cool or what !!

What a fantastic back drop to look at when your not working SR, OH and myself went dolphin watching in Gibraltar a few years ago...I loved it. But the dolphins we saw weren't as famous as the Moray Firth Dolphins, is that the first time you'd seen that particular pod??

I'll need to time my next trip in that direction when you are looking over the Moray Firth wondering if a pod will go past!

No dolphins today, just a couple of common seals - but the son of the castle owners was out in the firth in his canoe during the week and paddled with the dolphins for a good three or four miles - that is way coooool

Saw 5 adult dolphins today. Tbey were really close in and the group seemed to split up right in front of the castle and went back and forward for a good half hour. Can think of no better view when supping from my flask witha mouthful of chicken and chilli sauce roll !!
