I looked into it and apparently they can die. Not like octopus who will die. Female frogs can be inadvertently drowned from too much mating, especially if there are a lot of males. From exhaustion as well as weakened immunity etc.

My cat and I did notice a lot of splashing there, so I'm guessing she did have a lot of partners. Or it could have been a very sprightly single one, of course!

Some years ago we were sat by our pond on a wooden bench I made from a piece of Elm, I inadvertently let a botty burp go and an unseen frog started croaking having a conversation with my butt. My wife was laughing so much I feared she might have injured herself........................
