    Yeh - I agree!

I spotted a Tortoiseshell and a Swallowtail next to each other on some valerian flowers.
    Then nothing at all.

Never seen a small copper….what a pretty little thing!

15 minutes isn't long enough to watch and count. Yyesterday I had lots of butterflies in the garden, but never more than 2 or 3 at a time. Large whites, comma, painted lady, red admiral, small tortoiseshell, gatekeeper, meadow brown, and a small copper. As my garden is tiny, they tend to chase each other out.

Ha!…I was thinking the very same thing Bren.
Seeing as it lasts 3 weeks I thought I’d start doing it when I’ve seen my first one!
( not that I can add my statistics being in France n’all that)

Thanks for the heads up Nicos, is it only me who has less butterflies when I do the count than at any other time.
