Brandywine tomato

Guys, is this a side shoot or a fork and if I don't remove it, what's the best way to support it, please?

Looks like a side shoot to me 1Bee.
I wouldnt bother supporting it, cut it off , put it in some dwr and your away .

If it was mine I'd leave the side-shoot and just tie it to a second cane.

It�s difficult because both stems look identical in thickness,you can either cut it off or tie it in to the bamboo,is it going to be in the way of that tomato flower truss that�s forming there?

If you miss pinching out a side shoot near the bottom, it is easy enough to add another cane. When they are further up the stem, it's a bit awkward to manage, I find.
I'd snap/cut it off, and yes, as already said you could root it and grow it as an extra plant if you have space

I stick mine in glass of water on the kitchen windowsill, roots in about a week this time of year, then gently pot on as the roots can be a little tender to begin with.

I'll have a go but think it may be a bit late in the year for much of a result and need to let a few shoots grow yet.

Either way, but I tend to just poke a hole in the greenhouse border and sink the stems in a few inches, firm gently, and just let them get on with it. They look a bit sad for a few days but most end up growing away after that
