You grapes are a bad influence! I read through these posts and had a giggle and really enjoyed the photos. So I had to buy some Tromboncino seeds to have a go myself! They came today so now I have to just contain my impatience until May to plant them!

Welcome to the club Ognen! You can plant them before then, just not plant them out until there's no frost

You should be alright because they like to climb. Build them a wigwam or something like you would for your runner beans. They need a little encouragement to climb at the start.Originally posted by Chrissyteacup View PostHow big do the Trombo plants actually get? I’ve loved this thread but not sure I’d have the space to join in!

I grew three plants this year - two in the ground, and one in a corner of a blue ikea bag filled with soil. Neither plant take up more than 70 cm across ground level, as I've trailed them up arches and trellises

Oooo goody! I'm just a bit above you in Hull and last frosts are usually early May. Once I get the glass back in my greenhouse I will pop one in there.Originally posted by SarrissUK View PostWelcome to the club Ognen! You can plant them before then, just not plant them out until there's no frost
