  • Cucumber & Spider mite

The Cucumbers have spider mite on them, think it was the recent hot spell we had.

    Any suggestions what to do?

    TIA

Not a lot!!! Try keeping the leaves damp by spraying them with water. It might limit them, i don't think there is an insecticide for them.

I had spider mite on indoor tomatoes and got some biological control - some sort of bigger mites which eat spider mites. I can't say that it was wonderful, and I cleaned everything thoroughly once the plants had finished. Touch wood I haven't had a problem with them since.

They definitely prefer dry conditions, so misting the leaves with water is probably the way to go. Cucumbers like this anyway.

assuming in a greenhouse, leave a couple of buckets of water to create a more humid atmosphere. Might just be my eyes but are you sure it's just red spider mite, try a feed with some Epsom salts, some of this might be magnesium deficiency?
