Just read this again and realised that Baldy is interested in "weird stuff" (confirms what we've always thought!)
    I use :-

Eye of 'tato, 3 months old,
    Leg of sprouts growing mould
Skin of cuke green and bold
and Poo of chook left 'til cold.

Stirred together in a wooden box
with a lid to keep out fox
    heated up in the sun
with lots of worms having fun.

In a tub I stuff comfrey,
Nettles, weeds and a dash of wee
Hubble, bubble give it a stir,
When it stinks, its all a blur.

Baldy, you wanted some weird stuff,
    Another glass, or had enough?
    Plenty here for another round!
What!! you poured it on the ground

And on that note, I must fly,
My broomstick's in the corner, standing by.

    Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Tarquin is a cool name for a chilli or pumpkin

My grandad named a leek after that balloon in "The Prisoner" - it even had a collar and a name tag.

My grandad had a leek too - but an operation cured it.

When I hang pots on my fences I use 2 pots, an outer one, which might be a trough, and an inner one with the plant in it. Between the 2 at the bottom I put various absorbent items to help hold water. Sometimes its a "water slice" which is a round gel mat designed for hanging baskets etc, and sometimes its capillary matting, but I have also used pairs of old socks to pad out the troughs and lift the plants a bit.

I guess its fairly weird to have troughs of old socks hanging on your fence.
