Was the compost you transferred them into cold, they do look a bit sad don't they. You can start cucumbers off in pots that size so they don't need touching till they're bigger & stronger next time, maybe they're just sulking from the move? It's quite early for cucumbers, they might start growing really tall, have a bigger pot & a 6 ft cane handy

Just realised, the Compost was cold. I usually get it to room temp but forgot. Should I heat them up now or stand near a radiator or something?Originally posted by Jungle Jane View PostWas the compost you transferred them into cold, they do look a bit sad don't they. I would leave them alone as doing that will shock them further and not help, Cucumber seedlings are notoriously delicate to shock of heat or cold and will give up the ghost if you even cough too close to them (well to me anyway, never had success with them). Those that have successfully grown them will give more qualified advice than I can.Originally posted by Dynamite View PostJust realised, the Compost was cold. I grow cucumbers with some success but a few always wilt and die - I've seen someone on here describe them as suicidal! Too right! I keep them as warm as possible and plant out in my unheated greenhouse at the beginning of June. Warmth is easy inside but light is harder. I will wait until it gets lighter and plant in April as when I've planted earlier they've got leggy and not formed strong plants. I also go for a pot they won't need potting on from. Hope yours recover from their shock!
