Truss just gave way under weight of tomatoes, Does this usually happen with this type, I tied it up hoping it will be ok or are these tomatoes doomed, just a newbie so sorry if it's a daft question.

Is it broken or just bent? Sorry I'm on my phone so I can't really tell. I often do "repair jobs" if things aren't holding up under the weight. Support them with some of your Mrs stockings or if it's bent I'll often support with a piece of bamboo skewer and some black tape.

Just bent Scarlet but it looks a bit bruised.

Just support the weight with some thing and they should be fine you look like your in for a very good crop

Forgot to say this is my only truss like this, it split in to a Y shape, the rest just look like normal trusses.

My shirleys often collapse under the weight of fruit - I have quite a pile-up at one end of the sitting room windowsill. One of the main stems is almost bent double.



What I find when this happens, if there is a very sharp bend, is that the tomatoes don't get any bigger and they start to ripen straight away. The red tomatoes near the bottom of the photo are actually the top truss on the very bent plant. The lower truss on this plant is still green.
