Tomato leaf rolling and stunted growth

Started about a week a go, what causes the leaves to roll like this? I've checked the plants no sign of any aphids or any other bugs. It's happening on the new growth only?

Other than that the plants look healthy, can't see no spotting or yellowing.

Any tell tale signs from the pics so I can remedy?

It often happens if there is a big difference between day and nighttime temperatures - the plants usually grow ok once the weather settles down.....

My aubergine just did the same, it was doing fine while in the middle of the greenhouse being ventilated, but I moved it on one of the shelves and the leaves curled and look awful. My educated guess is, ventilation is the problem.

Leaf rolling is often caused by heat stress and lack of moisture - it's just not getting enough from the roots. The plant curls it's leaves to try to conserve the moisture.

Have you got any shading on the green house?

All of my gardeners delight are doing this, some so much they leaves at the top of the plant have won themselves up into little balls!
As the plant grows up they seem to be sorting themselves out though.

I posted exactly the same last week I thought is was a virus. I fed them and watered. I left it a few days on the bottom half looked ok so I took the risk and cut all the top section off as it had wilted so bad. Last few days looks so much better.

I have a polytunnel so little shading. This only affected one plant though. ANd my ventilation is good.

Sorry about late reply, no I haven't got any shading on the greenhouse but heat stress does sound the likely cause. Last week I forgot to open doors + Windows and temps inside were nearly 50 degrees!!

Will they unroll on their own?

A couple of my toms have been doing this too I just assumed it was because it has been a tad chilly this past week. Yet yesterday it was up in the 50's in my greenhouse!!! Time to prepare their bed in the tunnel I think and get them planted out properly ASAP.

That's a good point, I'm growing 4 types of tomatoes and it's only the gardeners delight doing it.
I've got a few that have been outside for over a week and a few in a blow away, they are all behaving the same.
Must be something to do with that variety....

I think it depends on how good the root ball is for the size of the plant. As they get bigger and grow on the problem will go away.

You can use debris netting thrown over the top of the green house for shading. Plants don't line temps of 50 I'm surprised they are still standing.

My large Shirleys in the greenhouse are doing this near the tops of the plants, but not at the bottom. Smaller plants are unaffected. I'm sure they are too hot and having trouble getting water to the tops fast enough. I have shading on the roof, I water them regularly and the compost is damp, and there is an automatic vent on the window. The door is opened whenever possible when its hot - I am not there so my friend does it when she opens her polytunnel. I don't think there is a lot more I can do - the sudden change from cool (around 10C) to very hot (mid 20s) over the space of 1 day is probably to blame.

One thing I personally wouldn't do is wet the leaves. If they're already suffering, you might weaken them further and make them more likely to get a fungal problem.
