Can this be used as Propagator ?

Saw this today whilst out shopping reduced to �9.99 and thought could this be a good propagator ?Neat and tidy and could be put in the corner of the conservatory.

Am i missing reason as to why it couldn't be used?

The only thing I would say is that the light would be very restricted unless you opened all the drawers to different lengths to give a step effect.

I just love it when people think outside the 'box'

I personally think the drawers would be best used as lids over the top of plants.

Which sits on top of a tall unit in the conservatory.

I'm not aloud to make a mess in the house but this would be clean and tidy and hardy noticeable

This is a sore subject ,i have one on the plot ,but this is the result of a bad storm ,it had held up well until then.

But the idea is that i start the seeds indoors in the baove and then move them to the greenhouse.

My current debate is do i spend money on fixing what i have or do i ditch it and buy a poly tunnel (research suggests they are stronger).

It looks more like a storage bucket thingy Ant.
You wan similar seed holding things to your last post but smaller so they fit on a windowsill or somewhere with lots of light.

That looks like a really tidy greenhouse btw, just needs some tlc.

I'd be tempted to remove all the polycarb, re-panel the door side with the polycarb putting in extra clips & net the rest with debris netting giving you a great fruit cage, Brassica cage. You can then decide if you want another GH or Polytunnel.

That was one of the options ,with either Brassicas or strawberries in there ,then add a small polytunnel further down the plot.

Well I'll throw another suggestion your way, I'm full of daft ideas.......................I need to contact a neighbour as he has a 8x6 greenhouse in his garden with no glass & is dropping to bits. My plan is to split the greenhouse lengthwise so you have 2 goal post shapes, join them together, do a bit of bracing to the roof & vertical supports to stop it falling over. I then plan to cover it with wide netting & use it as a 16ft long Munty frame to grow my Cucumbers up, maybe some Runner Beans in between. Told you I was full of daft ideas..............

i like the idea ,in a nutshell increasing the netted area as much as i can would be the aim ,so maybe splitting it down the middle and adding cross sections with upright supports,basically making it as wide as possible so i can get the most netted beds under it as possible.

Good idea, you would have to modify how the door frame fits but shouldn't be too difficult. So basically you could have 2 x 3ft wide beds with a 18" path in the middle plus a bed at the end making it approx 8ft x 8ft.

After extra thought, you could maybe separate it further with longer timbers in between then put a number of smaller beds inside. You need to get out the graph paper & see what will work best for you.
