And today I harvested a 1.5kg /3lb 6oz swede from my kitchen garden! Along with parsnips, sprouts, carrots and peas - yes PEAS! Only a handful but peas nevertheless. They were sown in the open ground last September 21st.

Now what did I put in the soil? Orse poo, home made compost and fed the little darlings with pig poo tea occasionally. And kept watered.

Dig the ground well, add some well rotted orse poo and water well. I also occasionally fed my mine with pig poo tea - slurrrrrrp!

Wow, that's a corker! I don't have luck growing swede but that's ok, I discovered I don't like them.
