Over the weekend I did a fair amount of work on the plot.
Finished off my pallet compost bin - it's already half full!
Got a couple of car-loads of gravel off Gumtree and backfilled half of the main drainage trench that runs through the middle of my plot - so nice not to have to constantly step over it all the time!
Cleared the cobwebby jungle of tomatoes and sweetcorn from the polytunnel - I can breathe in there again... bliss.
This morning I planted out 12 spring green seedlings, 6 in the tunnel and 6 outside, and sowed a dozen aquadulce broad bean seeds in the tunnel for an early crop.

I kinda neglected it all a bit after my tomatoes keeled over with blight so it's nice to have it clear once more and ready for wintering plants. Then in the spring I can use it for crops once more.
I can't mulch over my runner beans for them to regrow next year, because I needed to plant some onion sets there (amongst the bean roots that I've left in there, they could regrow maybe?) also planted a few cloves of garlic around the edge of the onions. I've put the runner bean mulch around my Brussels sprouts, clematis & gooseberry plants.
