Hiya Dal, in spring/summer Sarpo Mira take about 22 weeks to maturity which takes us to Dec 4th so I guess they'd need undercover protection from from cold. Daylight too would also slow them down so go for it, fresh dug spuds for the festivities
PS. Mira and Axona can grow a bit big and become rock hard and less tasty after 22 weeks. However, I know someone who was acquainted with the guy who developed the Sarpo range and she grows them for young spuds only, never letting them get too big.
If yours are a tad slow to develop due to the time of year you could be onto a winner. Keep us posted how you get on.
Mr Bones thanks for the expert advice ! i'll give them a go, some in buckets and some in the ground with a good cover of mulch to keep em warm ,I will keep you informed as to how they grow .atb Dal
