Pepper fruits developing brown spots at bottom

What is the reason for this?It only happens at the bottom part.
I live in greece so I have plenty of light and temperature these days.
I used to water every 2 days but now i have stopped doing so and will water till i feel the plants have a need for it.

I have the same problem with a few of my tomatoes - I think it's called Blossom End Rot. It's when the plant goes short of calcium, and this is probably because they've not got enough water. I water my tomatoes every 2 or 3 days too, but they're in pots and they probably needed more during the hotter weather. You can't save the fruits which are already affected, but you can stop future fruits being damaged by making sure you water them more regularly. Or so I've read . Last year I managed to turn most of my peppers brown and soggy in the polytunnel by splashing water on them when I watered them, but the sogginess was all over, not just at the bottom.

I agree it sounds like blossom end rot due to insufficient watering. The unaffected parts of the fruit should still be edible.

I water my plants every day. Sounds like a problem with underwatering.

Have you grown them before?
Are the rest of them green...I'm asking because when I grew bell peppers I noticed mine were going brown, and then suddenly the brown areas turned red!

I have a similar problem here in Spain. The bell peppers are also weird shapes!

At least you HAVE peppers! lol My best and biggest ones are still about 1 cm!

I stopped watering them and will do when i see the plant dries a bit.
Now the peppers are developing steadily but surely.
I am using traditional seeds so the development would be slower.

I observed a strong flower in my tomato which indicates i overwatered them actually in the past and was the reason for weak buds/flowers.

Also watering and sudden drying of the soil afterwards(due to hot climate),is supposed to prohibit the plant to utilize calcium sufficiently.

Which is why I watered them more often, to stop the drying out

Let us know how you get on with watering less often - if it works I could pass the tip on to friends who are still there.

I am now watering the peppers every 2 days or 3.

No problems now with the fruits.only the first 3 peppers of the plants had this problem.
It could be blossom end rot because these days i observed a lot of blossoms going bad,drying and falling from the pepper plant.

What i didnt like is that after the watering,the soil would become cracked and sort of dry in a weird way while being moist the next day.Cant describe but you get the meaning.

So the quality of the soil after the watering could affect the absorption of calcium leading to blossom end rot.
