Not a single ripe tom this year

Finally a touch of red on one of my Sweet Aperitif. These have absolutely tiny fruit, and I'm hoping they live up to their billing, because otherwise I will not be growing any more. The plants are pathetic and the one I tried to grow in the greenhouse refused to set fruit at all.

I had about half a dozen fully ripe "Sungold" yesterday which never made it further than my gob!
But at long last today, thinking the worm is finally turning!
To be honest, like most others have said, the Max/Min therm as been showing high's of 35 in the day and as low as 6.5 at night, no wonder the poor "Beggers" are confused!

I grow Sweet Aperitif, very prolific, pretty much like Sungold but not quite as sweet.
I run mine in the GH to five trusses and expect 20 plus fruit per truss.Potty by name Potty by nature.

Interesting - do they have slightly strange looking leaves which tend to curl up a bit round the edges? Mine are all like that - not the healthy downward curl of the whole leaf that indicates strong growth. The fruit on mine are small to tiny - much smaller than Sungold. Is that normal?Originally posted by Potstubsdustbins View Post#47.

Yes the leaves do seem to curl upwards, even the new leaves near the top of the plant.
Pic will give you an idea of size.
One thing I have noticed is the trusses have a tendency to divide, last year I had a truss that came from the main stem and then divided into to five further trusses, this year I have cut the extras off and just left the one truss at each station.Potty by name Potty by nature.

Thanks - reassuring to see that it is not just my plants that look odd. Your fruits are definitely a lot bigger than mine though. I have some double trusses, but most are single, and the tomatoes towards the ends of them are the size of small peas, with the ones at the stem end about marble sized. I know they are cherry tomatoes but I was hoping they would be a bit bigger than this.Originally posted by Potstubsdustbins View Post#50.

I've noticed this with my Sungold this year. Last year the trusses were all single stems, but this year some have divided, with about 20 fruits on each of up to 5 branches! I've just left them be...Originally posted by Potstubsdustbins View Post
