Still one solitary tumbler. The plants are full of good sized fruit so when it starts it will be a glut. SWMBO is going to be very busy coping to preserve them.

I was given 2 bush cherry outdoor tom plants and despite the constant cold and wet the little blighters are going red, weeks ahead of the indoor toms, is this what they mean by "sods law"?...at least with temps so low all the time we don't have to worry about blight, the cold has probably killed it...
My bush tomatoes are looking happier and further forward in general than the cordons, possibly because the mass of foliage is somehow keeping them warm.

Sorry this is meant to sound smug, but I was really worried as my toms seem really rubbish this year, but just picked first handful of Tumbler this morning. Am sure I was getting loads this time last year. Some of the plants are so spindly they are likely to break with the weight of not very much fruit !
No red ones yet, but I've had some yellow ones from my yellow tumbling tom and sungold. Masses of green fruit on the others, looks like I'll be enjoying a glut!
Dorothy, well done you, but you are well south of me which helps.
Still the sun yesterday and today has moved things on. This may well be a sign of things to come.
Sun? What sun? Cold and wet here again today although it is brightening up a bit now.
Still no tomatoes looking like turning red, although the Balconi that were indoors are still producing yellow ones. The red variety seems to have gone on strike for now.

I've a slow trickle coming frommy indoors Latah, snow cherry and black cherry. It's possible a few Green Zebra are ripe, it's my first year growing them so I'm not sure. The Colgar are starting to turn colour although it has blossom end rot.

Green Zebra does change colour when it ripens, it goes a sort of yellowy green. It's normally pretty late though, it was one of my favourite varieties to grow back home in New Zealand but haven't had much luck with it as an outdoor variety here.
I have 2 Sandpoint just turning red outside - this is super quick as they went out as small plants in mid-June. Seeds from the greenhouse ones are festering away in a jar for adding to the VSP, if they aren't already in there.
...Just checked, they aren't. They are a really nice salad tom, semi-determinate and very, very early.
