Munched on the first pull off my broad beans yesterday. A mixture of Meteor and Bunyards. Still a bit small, but very tender and good flavour. Lots more to come.

My bean plants are over 5 feet tall and full of beans. The flowers have all but gone and the majority are producing pods.

My spring sown outdoors crop haven't flowered yet. My early greenhouse crop has set, but I'm still a couple of weeks from a harvest.

I grow broadies through the summer, sowing successionally, and sowed my last rows at the weekend.

I picked some beans last week - young pods about the size of a finger. Just chopped them up as I would runner beans and ate them, pods and all.

Yes, I plant beans in pots in the GH in autumn. By mid decenber, they are about 6 to 8" tall and get planted out into a raised bed.

Wow! They're fantastic. Are they really six foot tall?

My overwintering attempts have always failed, but I might try your pots in the greenhouse then plant out tactic. Probably I'd keep them in all winter to the start late Feb early March, then plant out.
