Runner bean query

    thanks for that - being a newbie I hadn' t even thought about that. What supports do you use for the beans?

      I use bamboo and hazel but still they are heavy croppers and my bamboo was totally bowed by the end of the season and sagging and it was supported every 10"!

        We use 8 foot cane sticks in a double row. With one row leaning against the other - so it looks like the top of a wig wam but in a straight line. Then tie cane sticks across the top to strengthen the structure.

          have you seen the galvanised steel bean support in the harrod horticultural catalogue?
          Has anyone any comments on it?
          Can't decide if its worth the investment
