One man's mess is another man's "wilderness garden". Do you mean to say you've been doing no gardening, but Mother Nature has? Mother Nature is incapable of creating a "mess". As G4 says, it's a nature reserve...or a wilderness garden (very popular at Chelsea I'm told)... or an eco-space...

Leave it as it is, and build a folly. You'll draw crowds of tourists

I've not only got an eco space, and a carbon sync (whatever that is) but I'm having a recyclable garden space........saved me taking the odds and sods to the tip - I just put a few together and have bought some climbing plants to grow over them and voila.............looking for the right term, but I know it will be cool and trendy

My lovely little bit of France is a mess too Jardiniere, but I've given up worrying too much about it . Although it's not huge by local standards (just under 3000 sq m), it still gets away from me, and as fast as I sort out one bit, another bit becomes a jungle again. However, it does mean we have a whole range of wonderful wildlife, and wild flowers growing everywhere which lots of people would kill for. My gooseberries are probably the only ones around here that didn't get riddled with saw fly - don't think the flies could find them amongst the field grass which was taller than they were! I get a bit embarrassed sometimes when we have people round, because everyone else seems to be able to cope and their gardens are always much tidier than ours, but then again, I like our garden more than theirs and I wouldn't change it for anything. I just see it as a lifelong project .

I like the saying A tidy garden is an unhappy garden - mine's not just happy it's ecstatic!

I know lots of people who have incredibly tidy gardens, and houses. Their children have matching socks as well

Mine too is a mess in parts...some bits look good, but the rest is a shambles!!! ( mostly the areas which have finished cropping and we've just not had time to weed/cover/sow anything else)
