This is just one of the cool ideas we have picked up that could be of benefit at our own site!
We had a similar thing on our lottie Snadge. Any surplus plants or items were put on a table for any other member to use.

I'm with VC, no spares here, just extra plants to be bunged in somewhere, usually overcrowding something else and generally reducing yields

The annoying thing BM is your spares are looking better than my keepers

All my spares have been gifted or binned. No quams about either. I did keep spares of some stuff last year, but I didn't go as bonkers with stuff last year and just haven't had the space this year

I always try to sow only what I need, and always manage to sow too much (an extra couple of courgettes, a spare pepper just in case...). The spares find bizarre homes because I can't bear to chuck them out. Last year I had broccoli on the lid of the compost bin, tomatoes trying very hard to invade the drive and more tomatoes on the garden seat. This year the garden seat has become a salad bar and the tomatoes have been banished to the fence. When the courgettes and cucumbers need to go out there will be a mass exodus to my friend's garden and greenhouse.

Well, she did say I could use them

Spares? I've had several texts from friends over the passed few weeks, all pretty much say the same "before I pop to the garden centre, can I ask if you've got a few tomato/pepper/ bean plants spare?" I've just had to sow a few more beans....

I give things away to friends and family, book group, school fair, the children's teachers etc - anyone I can possibly foist them upon!
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?
