they are about 10'' high now. does anyone know if it will be much longer before they start producing beans?

Where are they growing?
Any sign of flowers? -
about 2 or 3 weeks ago, maybe longer. no sign of flowers yet.....

Are they dwarf or climbing?

Need to know whether they are dwarf or climbing varieties. Even so, 10" is very small for flowers and beans. Where are they growing - in pots or in open ground? If they are climbing varieties they will need support in the form of canes or string and they can grow 6 feet tall (maybe more). Dwarf beans are supposed to support themselves, but I usually give them a few sticks to hold them up.Comment

I am growing french beans (which I presume are the climbing variety because it didn't say anything else) and also dwarf french beans.
someone told me they should start producing beans when they are about 3' tall?
also does tying them to cane help stop them getting snapped by the wind? two of mine were snapped by the wind a few nights ago
they are under glass at the moment for shelter because it's really windy, rainy and cold tonight but when they get a bit taller they won't fit under the glass anymore lol.
