      Borlotti climbing beans
Red and cream pods and beans. Very pretty!

We came 5 th in an unusual veg competition a couple of years ago with them....but having said that parsnips and kale are unusual over here!!

Are you thinking of entering into a competition with your produce?

        Tomato riesentraube
        Sweet pepper red cherry
        Hot pepper red cherry

I'm trying Jerusalem artichokes this year. If you don't eat them or dig them up, they turn into sunflower-like flowers, which is also a bonus if I find out that none of us like them, we'll keep the flowers instead
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!

Most of the stuff I'll have in this year is going to be a bit weird. Here's the intended plant list copied from my blog ...

Fruit Trees: Medlar (Nottingham), Persimmon Kaki, Dead Man’s Fingers (Decaisnea Fargesii), Apple (Jonagold), Cherry (Sunburst), Fig (Brown Turkey)

Fruit Bushes: Elder (Black Beauty), Jostaberry, Wonderberry, Golden Pearls, Blackcurrant, Blueberry, Barberry, Checkerberry (Gaultheria Procumbens), Inca Berry (Physallis Peruviana), Dwarf Pomegranate

              Fruiting Vines:
              Kiwi (Jenny), Passionfruit (Passiflora Edulis)

              Other Fruits:
Giant Red Strawberry, Yellow Strawberry, Black Strawberry, Blue Strawberry, Wild White Alpine Strawberry,Raspberry

              Nuts: Purple Filbert

Roots / Tubers Etc: Queensland Arrowroot, Dahlia Yams, Chinese Artichokes

              Peas/Beans: Hyacinth Beans, Asparagus Peas

              Edible Leaves/Stems: Calalloo, Cardoon

Edible Flowers/Buds: Globe Artichoke, Daylillies. Nasturtiums

Culinary Herbs: Japanese Beefsteak, English Lavender, Rosemary, Oregano, Samphire, Sage, Lovage, Horseradish, Ramsons

Tea Herbs: Pineapple Mint, Lemon Balm, Chamomile

Other Herbs: Feverfew, Electric Daisies (Toothache Plant)

Ornamentals: Small conifer (my Christmas Tree), winter flowering heathers, Leucothoe Zeblid

... although I pretty much have all the plants and seeds already, there still might be a few changes to that. The kiwi might be going ... and if that goes, the arch might go, and that affects the passion fruit ... but would leave more room for shrubs/trees ...

I love heirloom tomatoes. I grew some Black Russian Trifele and Green Zebras last year. Both have different looks and tastes.

We have grown the since we had our old allotment but decided not to when we moved onto our new one as they are so invasive even when you think you have them all out lol but the taste is fantastic
