Anyone germinating chillies yet??

I have pretty good results from east facing window sills, they do get the early morning sun and for overwintering chillies they seem to be the best. Not leggy at all. I don't keep anything in a propagator, I use mine for germination and they get taken out as soon as I see signs. That said Jolokias are very slow growers.

Very nice I never knew, until reading this forum, that Chillies could be overwintered, I'll try one or two of my Bhuts if they manage to get to a reasonable size

It did occur to me that perhaps I had left the seedlings in the seed compost too long and it had run out of nutrients . . . I've potted up the 2 strongest growers so we will see soon.

Actually I decided this year to cut down on my chilli plants as no one eats them in my house, although I make chilli jam and chutneys for presents I still had more than I could cope with so I've only sown a couple of Hans, lemon drop, cayennes and half a dozen serranos. I had a jolokia that over wintered beautifully last year, they are extremely slow growers but if you like them hot it's a lovely chilli.
