Potato pest

This is the first year I've grown potatoes and today noticed something has attacked one of my plants, any idea what it is and what I can do to stop it?

Looks like a minor bit of slug or snail damage but as, depending on your location, you'll probably be harvesting them soon anyway, I wouldn't worry.

Which explains why you aren't harvesting them just yet! If you were in Perth Scotland they would probably have been harvested already.
