Clumsy dog :(

I had a lovely winter squash (sort of pumpkin shaped but rippled and flatter) the size of a frisbee, my dog walked through it severing the squash from the vine Now I have a detached one! Is it worth trying to ripen it? If yes, how?

You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

Well as it's detached anyway, put it somewhere sunny and airy and hope Or feed it to the dog
