My turnip are dead

Planted 8 small bell turnips about about 6 weeks ago the last 2 days they have started to die so i dug one up to have a look at it found the root full of little white grubs .

I did not know that you had to put cabbage collars around turnips to deter cabbage root fly this is a first for me as i have grown turnips for 2 years only about 24 or so you live and learn

All brassicas are at risk of damage by the same pests . My main problem is cabbage whites so I net with enviromesh to be sure which avoids any need for collors too.
