Help please my red onions have thrown up seed heads what shall I do

Nip them off asap. You may well still get useable onions, they just may not store very well.

Thank you I have nipped them off , cant work out why they have done this as ive been watering

I think it is more to do with the temperature than watering. After it has been warm, then it's cold I think they panic and start to flower. Someone else might know better. All in all it's a nuisance!

It is in deed thankfully we will eat alot of these in the summer so they wont need to store long
