Oh no! Can they be saved? :(

Busily in the poly today I carefully pinched out the emerging side shoots of my tomato plants.... THEN i read the packets... Tomato black beauty and another which I think is a bush tomato don't like their side shoots pinching out do they?! Unfortunately I have haphazardly planted my tomatoes in-between each other - and yep, I can't remember which are which. I didn't hink this mattered as I thought we'd have a guess once the tomatoes came through... so, will they make it guys, and also how on earth can I tell which is a cordon and needs pinching and which isn't? Does pinching out really matter, how could anyone tell if it'll fruit more? Am pretty annoyed with myself

They'll be fine- just leave the next lot of side shoots on
Don't be annoyed with yourself- nature has a way of surviving!

Cutting the main stem off at the base though would have been more of a concern!!!!

Well i nearly secatured one to an untimely death as I was avoiding poking my eye out with a mis-placed garden cane! Thanks for the advice

Label every plant, and put empty drink bottles upside down over canes

I carefully arranged all the cordons down one side of the greenhouse, and left the few bush types on the other side with the cucumbers. I then told my Dad (who only ever ventured down there to get the Asparagus or Peas before me), not to pinch out the side-shoots. A week later, he proudly declared that he'd 'done my job for me' and that he was 'amazed' at how many I'd missed! Pillock!

They grew, they fruited, we were over-run with tomatoes.

Still glad we moved out though!!
