there is something a bit satisfying about squashing aphids,a possible major pest,dealt with just with your hands,i check now each time i go past,finger and thumb ready,i will never eradicate them,but they will not thrive around my patch,we had loads of sparrows and tits/chaffinches at the bird table all winter,now they are needed,where are they,like cameron,on permanant holiday,chilling out somewhere else when work needs doing...
