They sell it in Lidl but i have not tried it as it looks like it has been burnt and garlic is horrible when burnt. Still do not think i will try it.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

          Anyone tried black garlic?

Just watching Escape to the Country where a farmer has perfected a way of storing garlic for a year. Some form of heat and air used I think but the garlic turns black and tastes like licorice/balsamic vinegar. Would love to try that! (Eating it I mean)

It's lovely stuff. Does taste like balsamic vinegar with a bit of licorice thrown in. I bought some last year from The Garlic Farm (Isle of Wight) and have used it every so often to pep up a pasta sauce.

                                BUY IT!

I'm a garlic nut, goes in everything that I cook. Tried black garlic for the first time over Christmas, and I liked it. So far it's worked well in a slow cooked beef and mushroom stew, and it was great chopped finely and added to olive oil for my roast carrots.
