    Where are you?

If you're in the UK you're about 7 months too late (or 5 months too early, depending on which way you look at it)

    • After a bad start (cold & wet weather into July), the surviving plants have produced some fruit. Ripening is very slow in the greenhouse now that the days are short & the nights getting cold.

So, I'm cutting the fruits and ripening them in the house (just in the kitchen in the fruit bowl. No bananas, no radiators, no direct sun)

        • Most of mine are still in the greenhouse and fruit is still ripening, so will leave them there a while longer... The ones inside keep getting greenfly attacks...

          • all mine still ripening well in the greenhouse.

But some leaves are yellowing and dropping off....

Update 19/10/13 - Well that's it, I have binned most of my chilli plants, and have trimmed 6 back and put them into the conservatory. And will eventually bring into the house for overwintering, when it gets colder.

            Cant wait until next year!!!!!!

            • Well my habanero indoors is still going strong. It has completely filled my bay window area, well over 4ft wide and over sixty ripe ones ready to pick!

                  • does anybody know why the leafs on my scotch bonnet in the green container are crinkled and curling up? Do I need to add something to the soil or get some chilli focus or something?

                            • hmmm, I was expecting to perhaps see small white dots on the leaves... (But not always the case)

Are the leaves very brittle? As opposed to nice and soft as they should be?

Every year I have very similar problems with my plants, and I am quite sure that over watering is the case. (I know you have probably heard that 100 times already).

The problem could be something called 'EDEMA'

                              Read this:

A topic on edema - Growing Hot Peppers - The Hot Pepper

At least this is always the problem with my plants!!!

                              Hope this helps..
