£3.00 for 20 pots i would tell them where to stick it lol - darcy do you have an allotment/horticultural society shop near year, i have one literally on the end of the road and can pick up 10 pots for 30p (and they are good as you can fit 15 in a tray) and they also have a wide range of cell trays for only around 20p each - shop local if you can!!!

OK Darcy first things first 'Stand Easy'. Your train of thought re regimentation will eventually go but it does take time, about 10 years in my case. Remember the bit in the mob where if you hadn't got the correct item you had to make do with what you had, apply that train of thought to your gardening. After all as I remember we were pretty good at that sort of thing.

Best trays I have found at the moment are polystyrene fish boxes. Come in a vareity of sizes, your doing your bit for recycling and best of all as they are a single use item your fishmonger will give them to you for FREE.

I have loads of spare pots (most gardeners seem to). If you wanted to send me the stamps (£2.20), I'll send you a box full.

Pfft. Planting in straight lines... As an art teacher once told me, there are no straight lines in Nature.

Plastics trays though, yep, can deal with. Might end up on my classroom window sill come January.
