This is going to sound so stupid but what's the difference between a cayenne pepper and a chilli pepper?
I've tried Goggling but I'm none the wiser

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I think that cayenne is just a name of a variety of chilly VC! Might be wrong though.......I am sure a real chilli head will confirm or otherwise.....

            Loving my allotment!

forgot to say i've grown hungarian hot wax this year and they are harvested yellow, they are quite chunky, sort of mini banana pepper size, they are milder than cayenne so depends whether you need amount or heat for what your friend wants making

Knowing Dai the Jam, he'll want hot, as hot as the hobs of hell! He makes one chilli pickle that he labels in Welsh - as the use of the words Dragon's and Round spherical objects might be a bit too obvious in English. I did ask him what sort of chillies would he want and all he muttered was Yellow, has to be Yellow.... I probably won't see him until the Christmas market in December but unless you chilli experts tell me otherwise, that still gives me plenty of time to sow the seeds.

Update on my search for a yellow chilli. Dai the jam says he'd like long slim chillis, medium hot, as he puts in more yellow chillis and less yellow bell peppers than the recipe that I found required. So the chillis shouldn't be too hot as he won't be able to sell the jam.
Which do you recommend now please? My requirements are easy to grow and prolific. Thanks again

I haven't tried them myself but it sounds like the Golden Cayenne mentioned in previous posts might fit the bill!

They look lovely... must resist buying more seeds, must resist buying more seeds!

I'd definitely go for Hot Lemon then. Reasonably long, slim and very yellow. Medium heat with a nice citrus tang. Also known as Aji Limon or Lemon Drop.

Readily available from places such as:

Its one of my go to chillies!
