Never again Roma Tomatoes. Huge plants, loads of foliage and for the size of them a poor crop.

My Romas have been much better than the San Marzano, which I've grown for the last 3 years. First time for Romas so I'm happy. Been picking fruit since 20th July, a week ahead of the SM. And they've had less blossom end rot than the SM. The plants are about the same size, too! They clearly like my garbage clay.

I think this year just go for fewer plants of more varieties.
Except carrots. They will not grow.
And just fewer summer squash plants!

Sweetcorn........its so good right off the plant and steamed.

Cupido tomatoes......little plum ones from grafted stock at BQ! Unbelievably productive!

I will grow less runners and many more beans for storing such as borlotti?

More chillies.....jjust such a buzz! Just tried my first bhut jolokia! OMG! And made some sauce with it plus choc hab and a rocoto! Seriously hot!

More sweetcorn! This was my first year trying it and I only did Mini Pop... not only are they delicious but I am totally besotted with the plants themselves!

More leeks, more potatoes (hardly got any die to slugs/blight this year).

Definitely doing some beetroot next year.

If I can beat the slugs I will have some French Beans next year too!

Less cauliflowers... my 20 are taking up soooooooooo much space!

Like you Newton less runners (if any! although this may be sacrilege on the plot! To be fair I only had some this year as someone gave me a few plants!).

I don't think I will be bothering with the Crystal Lemon cukes again as we didn't like them much... they seemed to go from being very small to massively tough overnight... I dare say this is more me than them though!

All my usual stuff plus 3 new ones that I trialed this year.

Mesclun CACA peppery, crisp mixed salad leaves, this might even take over from lettuce I like that much.

Black cherry toms, as advised here they are wonderful addition to cheese on toast.

Dwarf curly kale, never grown or eaten it before its took me 66 years to find out its delicious.

Deffo off the list Red & Yellow Pear toms, poor germination, weak plants taste carp.
