Mucky sprouts

This is my first successful (?) year of growing sprouts - but boy are they mucky!

Any ideas what it is?

I woild suggest aphids. Get rid of them quick or you won't be able to use the sprouts.

Take the worse affected leaves off . Last year we gave the sprouts a reet good haircut and they improved no end.

Give them a wash with a pressure sprayer filled with plain water. Looks like aphids. Would have thought caterpillar frass but no holes apparent in the leaves.

aphids excretions are sweet and sugary and turn to black mould. Can't really see from your pic if that is your problem.

wash it off with a soft sponge. A little fairy washing up liquid won't do any harm but it will sort out any remaining aphids. Cheaper versions don't seem to work as well.
