Help - my courgettes are rotting!

They are Romanesco variety and they have been going for a couple of months. The plants are still small (nowhere near the size of some I have seen in some pictures on here) but flower regularly. We think one of them may be starting doing something as one of the flowers hasn't closed off the way they have every other time it has flowered.
I think I have changed the location thingy but if it doesn't come up I'm from Liverpool if that helps

Never heard of Romanesco courgettes, but never mind. Are they in pots, and if so what size?
