Can I eat bolted radish?

I thought I would leave the smaller radish in to grow a bit more but unfortunately they have bolted.

Can I still eat them or would they be woody & poisoness?

They won't be poisonous though they might be woody.

Someone's said you can eat raddish leaves - I have tried the leaves of my rats tail radish and survived.

They won't poison you but they may be woody and tough. Try one and see! You can cut it in half - you don't have to eat it!!

Alldigging, thanks. I've just put the leaves in my green bin for the local compost farmer via the council They don't look appetising, are they tasty?

Veggiechicken, I've cut the leaves & roots off, washed them & put them in the fridge for salads in the next couple of days. I've just cut one & it seems fine

I find radish leaves too prickly for my delicate mouth Maybe I leave them too long before picking too.

Its best not to use the big hairy leaves in salads, and maye try and cut them up a bit before you eat them

Nibble outside. mind for pests.
If it's gross go and spit it out into your compost bin.
Don't do this in front of people who are easily offended.

I used the leaves of my radishes to make a pesto. Very tasty, though I did use a touch too much garlic.

You could also have left it until the seed pods developed, these apparently make a tasty snack (with beer) or addition to a salad or stir fry.

Yes it was me! You can eat raddish leaves they're very beneficial and I have them mix with other salad leaves in salads...
