I love Florence fennel, but I'm wondering whether it's worth growing as I have a rather small garden (need to actually measure sometime). How much space does it need? Anybody have an opinion on whether it's worthwhile?

No, no, I'm growing my own veg cause I don't like them waxed!Originally posted by rustylady View PostDefinitely don't go for waxing then Flo. I have gruesome memories of when one of my daughters decided I needed to have my legs waxed.
SO...how much space does an unshaven, unwaxed fennel plant want?Last edited by eirish; 10-05-2012, 04:15 PM. Reason: dragging this thread kicking and screaming back on topicMarch is the new winter.

Sorry Eirish, you will get used to the vagaries of the Vine. We tend to go off tangent quite a bit, but only in a very friendly way. Link here for you re spacing http://www.uaex.edu/Other_Areas/publ...F/FSA-6083.pdf

My first time of growing this year, but it doesn't look as though it will take up a huge amount of space. I'm sure I've seen where other grapes have grown it in containers.
