  • OCA...again!

    AS you know Im growing oca in tattie bags this year. Would you add some potatoe fertiliser to the mix?

    I'm doing the same... but so far mine haven't even sprouted! They've been in since the first too.

    I was going to add some in, simply because I've a load and assuming for tuber production it's going to the be same mix required anyway

      My manky Oca crop from last year are still out of the ground - but chitting! (not deliberately - I've just found them!!). I bought them this time last year at the RHS show.
      Thanks for the reminder Donna - I'll do summat with them now

        I read (somewhere, maybe Real Seeds website) Oca do not need much feeding unlike a tattie. The only feed I gave them was some weak comfey tea(when I remembered).

        Just had a quick look and on Wikipaedia it states Oca grows in poor soil in the mountains, so......

            They're still in the 3" pots.. think I'll take them out and try to chit to get them going!

              Hold your horses Chris! I stuck an odd Oca into a houseplant pot (don't ask but it was handy) and its covered in leaves. Wish I'd done the same with the rest of the miserable crop.
