Hi - mine flowered last year and my neighbour told me to dig up the plant and buy a new one as it was a sign it was finished. I used the vine and internet to do some research and cut off the flower asap. This year there is a terrific amount of yummy rhubarb. It is a very large plant and I am taking a crown to my new allotment (I share with others at the moment).

A weed is a plant that has mastered every survival skill except for learning how to grow in rows -
cut it off and dont worry about it. Mine was grown from a stalk with a bit of root attached [from a +30 yr old plant] a couple of years ago. It tried to flower last year, I cut it off, it still produced loads.
It wouldnt hurt to feed it either, put some horse manure around it, or sprinkle a bit of BFB and water it in.Comment
