Hardiest Cucumber!

Hi again guys. I was thinking about my cucumbers today and I always seem to have problems growing them.

I think I need to start using a really hardy variety that is not a hybrid as I would like to save the seed year after year.

Any suggestions?

Sorry soladragon. I guess I'm an f1 guy. But if you find any I wouldnt mind a swap......you won't need too many to keep you cukes all summer long......

I have got 4 seeds (the whole packet!!) of Bella started on the kitchen windowsill - they are moved away from the window at night.

I am on suicide watch daily.

My favourite is Crystal Lemon (or Apple) and have always grown it in the greenhouse - but this year I am trying it outside but growing along the ground on to of weed suppressant to keep it clean.

I have grown Crystal Lemon in the past, put it outside (in Herts) and it was really good. I might try it again - if I can find the space...........

I have put in a few gherkin seeds (cheapo packet from Lidl I think), they did really well last year, but I did let a few grow rather big . They gave a different flavour to my 'bottom of the fridge salad' lunch that I take to work though.

I hear Early Russian Cucumber is really good but I can't get the seeds anywhere. All sold out =(
