thought any new peeps to growing might like to see my pics,as some have been asking about growing in modules,
here are some of my garlic roots, started of in modules a few weeks ago,now in the ground,
been trying to post them last 2 weeks, and just found out how to operate new system,
the first one is eleghant garlic, shown laying down in a seed tray,
the other 2 pics are overwintering sensui,
it just goes to show what is going on under the ground before the green shoots appear above the soil,so just be patient when planting direct into soil,as they are only establishing their roots

,no point in wasting them, have an experiment,is it possible to either, put them in seperate pots, and pop them in a greenhouse,or shelterd place,[last year i had my onions on strings hanging in the greenhouse all winter long, incuding the bad weather we experienced, and they kept just fine],so i wonder if yours might, just keep the soil/compost on the dryer side,or they bound to rot, failing that, could you build some protection around them in the ground and fleece over, anythings worth a try sooner than resigning yourself to loosing them,
