Fruit Trees with Vine Weevil?

I had a Vine Weevil attack during March on an Apricot Plant, Some Strawberry Plants and A Redcurrant Bush which were all in pots. When discovered I through them all out with the compost to get rid of them however I also had a Peach, Cherry, Apple and Pear trees which are in pots next to them. I have kept the Peach, Cherry, Apple and Pear trees and have seen no reason why they may have wine weevil but have decided i want to get them out of the pots and into my allotment but am just worried whether or not I may spread the Vine Weevil (If they Have them), and what I could use organically in order to ensure I dont spread it to the allotment and also whether it would still be present now?

Vine weevils do the most damage in containers ~ don't worry too much about your allotment becoming infested.

For your remaining containers: the treatment that springs to my mind is nematodes. This link is just a 'for example'

The other thing you can do is go out at night and look at your walls and fences: the adult beetle is often to be seen hanging out up there

Thanks The only thing is that some of my allotment has raised beds on it and soo I dont want them to become infected with them?

If I plant them into the ground will that them make them go away?

It's not that they go away in open ground (or raised beds), it's that there are predators around that keep them under control.

A container, on the other hand, is a perfect little hotel for them.

Ooh yeah thats a true point. Thanks for that. I think I might get some of them nemotodes and water them with that leave them a few days then plant them in the allotment Thanks again
