Overwintering cauli query

In my enthusiasm, I have found some mayflower seeds. Is probably very early to sow seeds, but is it do-able? I'd sow them in small pots and place in the hobbit greenhouse somewhere on a middle shelf to help cook. I keep looking at the copied seedpacket in my book as though waiting for a countdown.

That sowings can be made mid jan to mid feb, and in addition to that can also be sown september to October and over wintered in a cold frame to be planted outside march April for June July crop.

Blimey that's a year long jobby!

I would wait till September, you don't want them too big to keep in the greenhouse all winter do you?

Not particularly, no. My greenhouse is a tiny hobbit sized thing with four tiers. Guess it will keep me occupied in the back to school run up. Another veggie to experiment with I actually sat down today and plotted a sowing calendar, based upon previous experience and sowing directions. That's how much I like horticultural hobbitry. Roll on summer holidays!

Have you tried All Year Round caulies HH? I find you can really sow and plant at any time. If you want a few seeds to try, send me a PM and I'll send you a few.

Have never tried any form of cauli's at all. This is my first foray. Thank you for the offer! What I'll do, is see if I get anywhere with the mayflower (...assuming now, that it is an all year jobby...) I chose it hoping to sow after something had cropped in September October. I'll probably get bored of looking at the seed packet it and just sow anyway!
