    My plants were sown in mid-March and they're not any bigger than that now! I've looked after them quite well although they've been outside for the last two weeks, they were probably still too tiny to put out yet. FC we get a good September!

      I always panic that the tomatoes will never grow in time.

      Then there is the inevitable growth spurt and the greenhouse looks like a bikini line from 1972.

        I tend to sow my tomatoes end of April and always get a good harvest from late July/early August. There's too much doom and gloom about late sowing. Toms are sprinters, not marathon runners!

            [QUOTE=Potstubsdustbins;852173]Sall,

            Seeing as you are in the Midlands and not oop north give em a go. You were about a month to six weeks behind me and both my Tumblers and Sungold now have fruit. If we have anything like a summer you will get a harvest.

            Same here Midlander and sowed mine in March. All plants now 2-4' dependent on variety. Go for it and you will get some sort of crop. Give them a nitrogen boost for leafy growth and then potash/potassium feed when your flowers arrive.
