Wow they're pretty cool! Are they blue inside?

I love weird coloured veggies too, i've got red, purple and yellow carrot seeds, yellow tomatoes, rainbow chard, pink squash, purple beans, stripey beets and purple kale!

gratuitiously adding photo of this interesting tomato:

      Taken from this tomato blog:
Tomato Addict: Most excited to Grow List

It's good to read that this tomato was bred properly, and they didn't just nick DNA from a bottle of blue raspberryade or something.

Its the colour that inspires me also... I like to try different colour varieties...
e.g. last year I tried, purple cauliflower, this year I am trying yellow cauliflower,

these tomatoes are not genetically modified as also indicated by zazen,..

        directly from the OSU source

        Q. Were Genetic Engineering techniques used to develop these lines?

        A. No, conventional crossing and selection techniques are being used. This is perhaps the most misunderstood aspect of this project, and we will say it again: These tomatoes are NOT GMO.

The purple or blue colour of the tomato is because of anthocyanin. The amount of anthocyanin found in fruit depends on growing conditions. As a rough guide, the total anthocyanin levels of fresh purple/blue tomato fruit are about 1/10 or 1/20 of that found in blueberries, (in mg/gram fruit). Blueberries are one of the richest sources of anthocyanins.

            Blue seedling

I have not got much of a green thumb so I bought a blue seedling from an online supplier it is tall and lecky and I cant seem to get it to really take hold and start thriving. it has stayed the same exact size for 2 weeks. any ideas on how to get this darn thing growing? does anyone have any larger more established blue tomato plants they would like to sell?

It's been a little cool and dank these last few weeks Bradley.

Firstly, where are you, and what have you done with it since you got it - a photo might help. Has it got any flowers on it - and who did you buy it from?

Could a Mod split this thread so that Bradley can get separate advice to the 'blue tomato' thread...cheers.

I got my seeds from here:
                  Tomatoes M to R - Solana Seeds
which by the way is a VERY dangerous site for those who like tomato seeds - I had to forcibly remove packets from the order before I sent it, and I know I'll be ordering more next year!

The plant is doing oK I think in the greenhouse - I've 18 plants (16 varieties) and can't remember which one is this...
