Planted seed pots chits downwards - er, oops?

Hi

I've accidentally planted my seed potatoes chits/sprouts downwards - will this now cause issues? My first batch in growbags were also planted downwards (I think) and they've come up lovely but will it affect the crop?

No - they might take a little longer to break through the soil but they'll be fine. Plants really want to grow, we have to work jolly hard to stop them - and planting them upside down is hardly even trying! Good luck with them. I'm sure they'll taste fantastic.

Potatoes will row whichever way you plant them

I accidentally planted three onion sets upside down and they're certainly not growing Thankfully I have about forty or so where I wasn't so stupid though!

Theoretically, planting them with shoots down should give a longer, below ground 'haulm', which theoretically again should give you a bigger crop!
Look upon it as earthing up.........downward!
