It very much depends where you live. My grandpa used to say that when the laburnam was in flower the risk of frost has passed. I haven't been gardening for very long so can't say that I have really tested this theory extensively, but it has been a good rule of thumb between me (south west) and my mum (south east) their laburnam flowers later and they have later frost than I.

      pb1uk... we've all been there.
I find the most important thing is to keep telling myself that any nice, warm or sunny weather we get in spring is a lie. That it is, in fact, still the dead of winter and will remain so for a good while yet.
      This weekend needed several reminders.

If you are going to plant "early" then have some backups. If your Runners survive they will be well ahead, if not you can plant out the Backups instead.

My sowing calendar is based around planting out in the first week of June.

But I do have crops in the greenhouse for earlier harvests.

I'm on the north essex coast, I'm pretty sure we've seen the last of the ground frosts.
although it was later than this last year we had snow!!
Spring is looking good so far here.
I suppose its a risk you take!
