  • Uses for a yoghurt making machine?

I've got an old yoghurt machine with holes for 6 pots. It has a hard plastic lid and it plugs in to heat up the milk to make yoghurt (as yoghurt makers tend to do ).

My question is, would it be possible to use this as a mini propagator or would it get too hot? Any ideas?

bung a small thermometer in and you will be able to tell

To make yoghurt the temp needs to be 38 C so it will be too hot for seeds. you could prop the lid open but even then I don't think I'd try it.

Thanks for the replies. Bren, how about if I use it without the heat? I usually cover my pots with glass/clingfilm/food bags. Would the yoghurt maker with the lid do the same job?

That would work and it would easy fit on a window sill.
